Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 Limited Edition

At the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, Peugeot announced that it's now taking reservations – in 11 European countries – for its 3008 HYbrid4 Limited Edition model. Only 300 of the limited edition, through-the-road diesel-electric hybrids will be built, so scoring one may prove to be difficult.

The 3008 HYbrid4 is powered by a 163-horsepower 2.0-liter diesel engine and an electric motor that offers up 27 kW (37 hp). Peak torque is listed at a whopping 369 pound-feet, of which 221 lb-ft of twist, provided by the diesel mill, spin the front wheels while 148 lb-ft, generated by the electric motor, power the rears. The powertrain's unique setup makes the 3008 a four-wheel-drive vehicle and assists it in achieving a fuel economy rating of 61.9 miles per gallon (U.S.), with emissions pegged at 99 grams per kilometer of CO2.
