Royal Wedding: William and Kate drive away in open-top "wine-powered" Aston Martin

Prince William and his bride, Kate, delighted spectators Friday by leaving a wedding reception at Buckingham Palace in an open top sports car — with the groom at the wheel.

The classic black Aston Martin, which belongs to William's father, Prince Charles, sported a "JUST WED" number plate and had balloons fluttering from its back bumpers. A bright yellow helicopter of the Royal Air Force search and rescue service — William's unit — circled overhead.

Kate, still in her stunning wedding dress, clearly enjoyed the ride, beaming and waving to the crowds. The pair traveled the short distance to St James's Palace for a rest before an evening dinner-dance at Buckingham Palace.
