Suzanne Dimaggio, Asia Society VP of Global Policy Programs

"How will Asia maintain this economic growth while developing -- in a way that is environmentally sustainable? Now, we see some positive trends where at least they give us a little bit of optimism... if we look at the recent financial meltdown -- it's Asia that is really fueling the recovery. So there is an element of resilience there that we, in the West, perhaps should learn from. Second, you know, Asia is the center of innovation right now. And then the third area where I think Asia's doing well is it's investing in education, and this will go to the talent pool that will continue to innovate. There was a recent international study done that looked at the school systems, education systems, of over 65 countries in the world. The United States ranked at number 26. Meanwhile, eight of the top 10 were Asian countries. But how will Asia do this while it's facing these mega challenges, water scarcity, ensuring access to affordable food supply, urbanization rates are soaring."
