Europe’s bio fuel policy threatens the climate

Greenpeace launched a report showing bio fuels can actually cause more greenhouse gases than traditional fossil fuels due to impacts on land use change. The EU labels bio fuels as a renewable energy source however, Greenpeace argues that bio fuels offer little or no reduction in greenhouse gas emissions compared to fossil fuels. Therefore, they should not count towards renewable energy targets or qualify for incentives.
