Human Impacts On the Environment

Nature, rich in specie diversity, used to dictate human life styles. Today, however, through our progress we mold nature to our needs, destroying its integrity. Urbanization, population, deforestation, infrastructure, and pollution are all examples of human activities that cause habitat fragmentation leading to species' extinction. Unlike the gradual natural transformation of ecosystems so carefully conducted by Mother Nature, the human impact is fast paced and drastic, preventing an evolution of species to occur resulting in their extinction. Busy with our everyday lives we tend to be ignorant to the issues of our collapsing environment. Instead, we grow comfortable with the limited decorative nature of our private lawns, sculptured bushes, and innumerous golf courses. Hopefully, we will take action before it will be too late, when nature under all the pressures done upon it backlashes and reminds us of who is really in charge.
