Car Efficiency Tip: Keeping Tires Inflated

Monique O'Grady of the Alliance to Save Energy highlights a simple fuel efficiency tip to keep money in consumers' wallets and improve safety while driving.

Keeping your tires properly inflated can increase your car's fuel efficiency by up to 3 percent, lengthen the life of your tires and keep you safer on the road.

You can find the proper tire pressure on a sticker inside your driver's side door or in your owner's manual. Don't use the number on the tire itself. Check your pressure regularly with a gauge, and if it gets too low, stop by a service station and fill your tires to the recommended pressure.
