SKEV 1: The First Indonesian Electric Vehicle Generates 156hp

SKEV 1, short for Signal Custom Electric Vehicle 1, is an updated version of Honda Genio (1992). Its attractive features profoundly fascinated the jury of “Autoblackthrough Final Battle 2010” who readily gave it the title of “The Champion of Autoblackthrough”.

The SKEV 1 comes with easy charging. A complete charge can run the car for about 160-200 km. The transmission system, however, remains the original Honda Genio one. It can potentially generate a power of 156hp. There is an indicator to display the distance which can be traversed with the remaining battery charge. This ensures that you need not run out of charge at any point of time because you can reach a charging station just on time (or before). The ‘Regenerative Braking’ allows the car to automatically charge its battery.

This electric car has several significant features like spy glass, display of battery voltage, GPS enabled equipments and many more which make it user friendly. The SKEV 1 frame is made of metal. Hood and fenders have been made out of carved metal. The car measures 390.5 cm X 260 cm (length X width). It has been given a new chassis cradle. It has double adjustable coil which ensures adequate shock absorption. The head cover has been backed for adequate safety of the driver.
