CSR Minute: General Motors Introduces Non-Toxic, Waste-Reducing Tech

General Motors has introduced a new technology that helps paint stick to plastic vehicle parts, eliminating the use of primers that contain polluting solvents. Use of the new technology reduced solid and liquid waste from 48 tons a year to less than one; decreased air pollutants from 810 tons a year to 80 tons a year; and eliminated landfill waste from 25 tons to nearly zero. GM also reports that the capital investment paid for itself in less than four months.

CSC, a technology solutions company, will host a Sustainability Executive Forum on September 18th in Nashville. The Forum is an exclusive executive event to bring together leaders from global process industry companies and utilities. The meeting aims to set agendas and priorities to build sustainability practices, benchmarks, and information to achieve company goals. Registration and accommodations are complimentary to sustainability executives.
