Offshore Energy Parks Combining Wind, Wave and Solar by Wavestar

Wave power has the ability to utilize the energy from the waves for a long time after the wind turbines must be security stopped because of too high wind speed. Wavestar plants have also space for approx. 200 square meters of solar panels. Solar energy is similar to wave energy a renewable technology that is rapidly evolving.

This means that the same area of ocean between the two windmills, without further restrictions on fishing and sailing, may give an additional electricity production with current technology at 5 MW of wave power plants alone.

Wavestar is the strongest wave power concept. It leads the race to turn ocean power into unlimited clean energy. Test and research machines have been operating in the North Sea and the Danish fjords since 2006 and they are among the first wave energy machines to be connected to the grid. The commercial 500 kW machine will soon go into production. Wavestar will work in harmony with other clean energy methods to support the movement towards alternative and sustainable energy.
