Ethiopia’s Prime Minister announced at the Global Green Growth Forum that the East African country is working toward increasing its renewable energy output five-fold in the next five years. The longer-term plan will be to hit a target of zero carbon emissions by 2025 with hopes that the private sector will play a pivotal role to help meet these goals.
Green growth is not a matter of choice but a matter of necessity for Africa, Meles said.
