Hydra Tidal develops marine (tidal and ocean) current power plants with unique competitive advantages in the context of cost to production ratio. This is accomplished by a patented floating system, keeping maintenance cost to a minimum because the plant can be towed by boat. We're currently building a 1,5 MW prototype that can deliver 5,5 GWh annually. Each plant weights approximately 320 tonnes and has 4 turbines, each having a diameter of 22 meters (72 feet). The prototype is due to deploy in the Gimsoysund tidal current located at Lofoten Islands in the northern Norway.
