Because when a town shows a commitment to planting and caring for trees, it can become a Tree City USA. Tree City USAs have one thing in common — they value trees and all that they do for us.

Obama orders 100% alternative fuels in government by 2015

In Washington, President Barack Obama has issued a Presidential Memorandum that all federal car fleets must buy only 100% alternative fuel vehicles by the end of 2015. The memo included issues such as vehicle size, engine size, optional equipment, and optimum fleet size as well as leveraging purchasing dollars “to build manufacturing capacity for more alternative fueled vehicles.”

Cover 1254 km with a Nissan Leaf in 24 hours by some Dutch Guys

A small group of Dutch EV enthusiasts have completed a 24 hour road trip challenge with a Nissan Leaf electric vehicle. Using fast charging infrastructure capable of fully charging the 24 kWh Leaf battery in 20 minutes, the team drove in shifts for 24 hours straight to see how far they could travel in a day. Despite some heavy traffic they covered 1254 kilometers (783 miles) mostly at highway speeds
