The Solar Boston program

Mayor Thomas M. Menino launched the Solar Boston program, a two-year, $550,000 initiative to increase the amount of solar energy in the city from one-half megawatt today to twenty-five megawatts by 2015. The City of Boston is one of thirteen inaugural U.S. Department of Energy Solar City Partners under the Solar America Initiative. The City is working with the Boston Redevelopment Authority to create an online map of solar energy in the city that will track progress toward the Mayor's goal.
