He shares his views on whether Americans will warm up to electric cars and and why the Obama administration is sticking by its goal of expanding high-speed rail.
ENERGY THEN: Electric cars aren't new. In fact, there was big interest in them back in 1967, when they were featured in an auto show of sorts at the U.S. Capitol. We look at the prototypes being pitched back then, including one that could hit speeds up to 50 miles an hour.

For the first time, the nation's most popular motorsport is using a blend of 15 percent ethanol in all its cars. In "Corn-Fueled Cars," Correspondent Lee Patrick Sullivan takes a look at how the organization and its drivers are adapting to the new fuel, and how it's paying off in performance.
