The world leaders are spending 3 billion Euros per 24 hours on war and defence. How much is that? The answer is, by stacking 100 Euro bills strait up in the air, it would be as much as 20 Eiffel towers*. Imagine, 20 Eiffel towers of 100 Euro bills wasted on war and defence every day!
The new idea: Cut down 8.9%* of your budget for ministry of defence in all countries at the same time. You would thereby, without disturbing the balance of power find all the money you are looking for to save the climate approx Euro 100 billions* every year to 2020. We want to inspire all world leaders, all parliaments and all people in the world to take action and responsibility for 8.9%* lower budgets of defence in all countries at the same time.
We have found the money. Better to invest them on the climate than in armies. It is probably the will of the majority of the people on this planet. Speech held by Tora Gimre, 14 years old from Bladins School, at COP 15 Copenhagen, December 12. Let´s start a rally all over the world for this 8.9% idea!
