The Sea Shepherd have officially secured a replacement for the sunk Ady Gil. At a celebrity-fueled benefit gala this coming October 23rd in Los Angeles, Paul Watson will reveal what’s described as their “new, fast interceptor vessel that will join their fleet this winter to Antarctica.” Famous faces taking part in the private event include Michelle Rodriguez (Avatar), Emily Deschanel (Bones), Kristin Bauer (True Blood), Isabel Lucas (Transformers), Beau Bridges (Stargate), Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Perrey Reeves (Entourage), Lindsay Price (Lipstick Jungle), Daryl Hannah (Kill Bill), Curtis Stone (celebrity chef), Richard Dean Anderson (MacGyver), Ken Jordan (The Crystal Method)

Apparently, Rodriguez will be a guest DJ at the event. As many of us know, she’ll also be joining the SS on the upcoming Antarctic campaign “Operation No Compromise”. As for the type of vessel the conservation org is revealing is anyone’s guess. The group has been tight-lipped about a successor for the speedy Gil ever since it sank after a collision last January (or intentionally scuttled, depending on who you believe) — although it appears that they may have had the new boat as early as July.
