Rockstars Donate Used Guitar Strings To Eco-Friendly Jewelry Company « ecorazzi.com :: the latest in green gossip
Wear Your Music — a New York-based group that creates 100% eco-friendly jewelry — has just launched a series of artist bracelets made from the used guitar strings of some pretty incredible musicians.
Over 150 artists, including Keith Richards, Metallica, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, and John Mayer have donated strings for the bracelets, which each come with a certificate of authenticity. “These are strings that these musicians have used and would normally throw away,” says co-president and designer Hannah Garrison, “It’s great that we can recycle them and also offer people a chance to wear rock n roll on their wrists.”
But it gets even better! One hundred percent of the proceeds from the jewelry is being donated to charities like the World Food Program USA, Unicef, and Carlos Santana’s Milagro Foundation. That’s a win, win, win!
