Al Gore Investment Firm To Launch $500M Asia-Focused Green Fund

Generation Investment Management, the investment fund backed by former vice president Al Gore, is raising $500 million for a fund set to invest in Asia companies focused on renewable energy, as well as social and environmental sustainability economy.

The fund will be separate from Generation Investment’s cleantech and green power-focused venture capital fund, according to Bloomberg, which first reported the news.

The fund is raising cash from a combination of institutional investors and high net worth individuals and plans to invest across Asia, including in Indian and Chinese publicly traded companies once it starts investing in July.
