Japanese engineers have successfully connected a one kilometer cable from an energized power grid to the disabled Fukushima nuclear power plant according to an update from the International Atomic Energy Commission (IAEA)
Engineers at the Fukushima plant were scheduled to resume spraying of water to the reactors and as soon as they are done, they will reconnect power and re-energize the plant which was severely damaged by the recent earthquake. Once power is restored at the plant, engineers will be able to activate electric pumps to collect water that will cool the reactor and pools.
