Germany can get 100% Renewable Electricity by 2050

Germany is a leader when it comes to solar power. However, scientists of the University of Kassel in Germany prove that the entire country can be powered by renewables only. They connected biogas, wind and solar power in a distributed way and show it can deliver both baseloads and peakloads.

While the government doesn’t look that convincing, it already has committed to 80-85% CO2 cuts by 2050. An aggressive expansion of renewable green energy seems like a sensible way to achieve this goal.
