As part of the celebrations for World Environment Day 2011, Greening the Blue has launched its first online photo competition on sustainability at the UN, in collaboration with the UN Photographic Society.
So if you fancy yourself as a photographer, and enjoy indulging your creative streak, then here's your chance to let your talents shine. We want you to send us your images for a 'Vision of a sustainable UN'. Entry is free and open to everyone. The deadline for submissions is 27 May, 2011.
Niclas Svenningsen, Head of Sustainable United Nations, sais: “This is the first UN photo competition on sustainability and I am very excited to see just how creative the UN can get. I encourage all staff to take part and raise awareness on sustainability in the UN.” Entries will be judged by UN experts in sustainability and communications. The winner will receive an award and be profiled on Greening the Blue. The winning entry will be framed and presented to the UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon. Source: Greening the Blue
