Spain A Role Model Of Green Energy

Through a landmark agreement, the Iberian country sold to France energy produced in plants using renewable resources as sun, wind and water.

The director of the Spanish electricity network said the strong winds and rains of recent months increased the production of hydro and wind. For this reason, 35% of the country’s energy demand was covered by these plants. The most successful renewable energy was wind power (produced with the wind), which this year covered 16% of Spanish electricity demand.

The head of solar energy program in the country, Javier GarcĂa Breva, said that “even five years ago nobody believed that these figures were possible. Nobody expected that renewable energy would grow as fast. Have unlimited potential. ”

The idea is that Spain will continue to grow in the area, as have several solar plants ready for operation. The country still relies on electricity generated by gas and oil to meet 50% of its demand.
