Retrofitted 1960s travel trailer gets an upgrade into a solar movie theater, complete with concessions, ticket booth and seating.
Designed and constructed in 2009 by Jo Furlong with support form Ami Marsden and Beth Marsden, the Sol Cinema is a fully functioning mini-movie theater powered by the sun. One hundred and twenty watt photovoltaic panels collect energy stored in lithium batteries, powering the theater day or night. Solar power is a great source of energy for mobile projects, allowing for installation and use just about anywhere.
